Sailing Alone

Is it just me ...or is this one of the most evocative images? The boat is sailing herself - just rolling contentedly along, over a calm sea lifting to a swell or two, whilst her skipper attends to some jobs on deck; tidying away a halyard having taken in a reef, prior to going down below and preparing a cheerful meal. The image has a feeling of utter serenity; and when things are getting hectic at work, it has the ability to restore calm. Somehow, at sea, land-based problems and worries seem to just drift away.
