Froe Creek

I wonder if you remember a news item (Summer 2008) about 22 Dolphins that had stranded themselves in a quiet creek in Cornwall? Well, that was Froe Creek.

The quietness of the location, protected as it is from wind in any direction, is what attracted the owner of this vessel to retire his craft there. It must be on the mind of all who own boats which they cannot afford to repair, that someone somewhere might want to buy their boat and repair it one day, and as a result very few craft are sawn up and burned. But boat repairs - particularly to wooden boats - are expensive, and most of the time no-one comes along to rescue her...so the boat is left to rot slowly away.

Original - Available from The Waterside Gallery St Mawes, Cornwall: www.watersidegallery.co.uk where it is on exhibition. If you would like it sent to you - please let me know by clicking here.
