The Isle of Islay still receives its provisions by sea, but not by puffer, and not at Bowmore Harbour which is too shallow for the 3000 ton craft which serve the island today.  This image is taken from a lovely old photograph housed in the islands museum. The registration letters on the puffer are from Campbeltown.
