Caol Ila

Caol Ila linkpage

I once asked someone who knew what he was talking about which was his favourite whisky and he replied “The one that happens to be in my hand at the time.” Which just about sums it up for me too - but if I had a favourite, Caol Ila would be it. One of the lesser known whiskies, we called our boat after it, and found that when we sailed along the south coast of England folks would ask “What is the significance of the name?” ....but when we sailed along the French coast folks would smack their lips and say “Fwoar Caol Ila! ziss is very good!”
