These fishing creels are of a style that hasn’t been used for a century - but I thought they suited the timeless feel of the Bunnahabhain style. I saw these on the film set used in the making of the BBC ‘Oceans’ series. A number of creel fishermen work from Bunnahabhain - particularly in the winter when they can benefit from the (slightly) calmer seas that flow through the sound of Islay, which is in the lee of the prevailing South Westerly wind. They fish for brown and ‘velvet’ crab which are exported in huge quantities to France and to Spain
